Capri Wedding Claire and Sam
Claire and Sam are both lawyers working in London with international backgrounds. Sam is half Australian and half New Zealander who spent much of his school age years in Rome, and Claire is half English and half New Zealander. I had the honour photographing the couple for not one, but two wedding ceremonies. The legal ceremony took place at Islington Town Hall which you can view here, and the celebration ceremony took place on the beautiful island of Capri off the coast of Naples. Capri, a popular resort for artists, writers and celebrities is famed for it’s rugged landscapes, high-end shops and limoncello liquer. This beautiful island is a perfect setting for a destination wedding and I was delighted to be ask to shoot there.
The couple had a simple ceremony at Belvedere Miglaria, a view point with tiered seating and breathtaking views of the gulf of Naples. The reception took place at the restaurant Da Gelsomina one of Capri’s most loved venues, run by husband and wife team Pasquale and Gelsomina. The evening meal consisted of a five course meal incorporating the couples favourite local dishes. Wedding favours were bottles of locally made Limoncelleo provided by Limoncello di Capri. Fabulous flowers and table decorations were designed and prepared by the wonderful Analisa D’Esposito from Flowers in Capri.
We took some time out to shoot the couple portraits in the old town of Anacapri which is absolutely stunning with lots of pretty alleyways lined with artisan workshops and tiny squares. The couple looks both classic and stylish, Sam’s two piece wedding suit came from Hugo Boss, shirt from Thomas Pink and shoes from Paul Smith. Claire’s gourgeous wedding dress came from Sally Lacock and her shoes were Capri Sandals purchased locatlly at Il Sandalo Caprese.
